Introduction

A Business Development Officer is responsible for new business development, making brand building strategies, identification of potential market segments and marketing. He/She is also in charge of revenue generation through new account development and key account management.

A business development officer might include tasks like:

* Broker engagements and relationship management;

* Service levels management;

* Research and build relationships with new clients

* Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the organization;

* Plan approaches and pitches;

* Participate in pricing the solution or service;

* Attend industry functions;

* Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate;

* Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets;

* Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels;

* Collaboration with the underwriting and claims department;

* Marketing Communications;

* Market Intelligence;

* Market analysis & planning and new product development;

* Crafting business and partnership proposals;

* Competitive analysis and monitoring;

* Any other duties as directed by AGM operations.

* A diploma or bachelor's degree in a business field.
